CACTUS DAHLIA, Black Narcissus FULL SUN TO PARTIAL SHADE Dahlias grow from tuberous roots which are hardy in Zones 6 and higher. They are indigenous to the Mexican Central Plateau and Highlands. Black Narcissus is actually quite old for a dahlia. It was developed in Canada and introduced iin 1956. It is a true heirloom dahlia. In recent years, a similar black cactus dahlia was introduced known as Nuit D’Ete. Black Narcissus and Nuit D’Ete are very similar in color. Black Narcissus is more fully petaled and the petals curve upward. The individual petals of Nuit D’Ete are much longer and much straighter.The 40-44 inch plant produces 5-7 inch in diameter blossoms.
