SPECIES TULIP, clusiana var. chrysantha T. clusiana var. chrysantha is the oldest modern day cultivar of the Clusiana group. It was introduced in 1928. This naturalizing tetraploid has exterior petals which are rosy red to scarlet and edged with sunshine yellow. The interior of each petal is sunshine yellow. Each day when the blossoms open fully a cluster of these bulbs will form a solid carpet of buttercup yellow. Few tulips present the drama in the garden like this Clusiana does. The plants bloom early to mid-season and show best when planted in drifts of 10-25 bulbs. HZ: 4-8 6-8” Early-Midseason
