Today the plant is grown on every continent except Antarctica. Kyjev is from Czechoslavakia. It was brought to the United States and commercialized by Boris Andrst. The bulbs and cloves are generously sized. The flavor is good. Garlic is best when planted in the fall, but can be planted in the spring as soon as the ground can be worked.
